Reconceptualizing protective factors in response to risk with vulnerable children

The quality and robustness of childcare professionals’ thinking about protective factors is crucial to interventions with vulnerable children. Yet, in are under-conceptualized policy practice have been overshadowed by the concept risk. This study uses discourse analysis examine how professionals discuss response risk a way that demonstrates critical thinking. Findings Data was collected from 30 consultation meetings, which involve total 109 professionals. meetings focus on assessment child who presents serious harm others themselves at findings suggest do risk, however, it occurs ratio approximately one nine, suggests level separation these terms conceptualized practice.
